Liam slammed the front door, the sound echoing in the silent hallway. He'd just read the flyer and felt a sudden hollowness inside him. The words swam before his eyes, a jumble of unfamiliar terms. He felt a pressure building in his chest, a sense of being trapped.

He walked into his apartment and started tugging at the blinds, letting the afternoon sunlight in. It did nothing to soothe his disquiet. He picked up his phone, scrolling through contacts, looking for answers. But who could he even call? The entire situation felt surreal, a bad dream he couldn't wake from. He threw the phone down onto the sofa with a thud.
