Sarah’s hands felt clammy as she stared at the email. The subject line, “DNA Results are In!” blazed on the screen. She hadn’t expected the results so soon. Her breath hitched. She chewed on the inside of her cheek. This felt like waiting for a doctor's report, only the stakes felt much higher.

She clicked the link and the page loaded slowly, each pixel seeming to taunt her. A wave of heat washed over her face. She scrolled down, her thumb hovering over the section detailing potential relatives. She’d always known she was adopted, but the reality of actually *finding* someone was a different beast.

Her heart hammered against her ribs as she read the first name. "Could this really be…?" She muttered, running a hand through her hair. Her stomach churned. Maybe it was a mistake.
