Gemotions

The doorbell's chime sliced through the quiet of the evening. Michael swallowed hard, his throat suddenly dry. He'd been expecting this. For days, the anticipation had coiled within him, a serpent of unease. He opened the door to a woman with his father’s eyes. A strange feeling, both thrilling and terrifying, shot through him.
