Gemotions

It was the smell, primarily. The fresh scent of the wood and the paint thinner, which reminded him of his uncle’s house, where he would spend his summers. He felt a deep ache in his chest, a feeling he couldn't quite name.

He kept glancing out the window, watching the workers with a sense of wonder. He felt compelled to walk around his house, examining the rooms, the furniture, the objects that defined his life. He was very content with his life.

He decided to go through his old clothes, the ones he hadn't worn in years. He wasn't sure why, but the house next door was a call to re-experience his life.
