Gemotions

The musty air of the basement filled Alex’s lungs as he delved into the storage room. He located the box labeled "Leo – Early Education". He opened it slowly, as if unveiling a priceless relic. A collection of hand-written poems, scrawled in a messy but earnest hand, greeted him.

He read a poem about his dog, Buster, his eyes brimming. He could remember the feeling of loss that still resonated within him. He remembered the scent of his dog, his fur, the way he would greet him at the door.

He sifted through the art projects. A construction paper collage of a rocket ship stood out. He recalled the pride he felt showing it to his friends. Now, he felt both joy and a strange, melancholy mix of emotions.
