Gemotions

The scent of aged paper and dried glue filled the air. Finn ran his fingers over a well-worn book report, his name scrawled in a familiar script. It was a summary of *Charlotte's Web*, his favorite book from childhood. His mother's handwriting, large and friendly, dotted the margins. He was standing in his parents' living room.

He closed his eyes and saw the familiar images. He remembered the comfort the story had brought him, the solace he had found within the pages. He had devoured it time and time again.

He then discovered a faded photograph tucked inside, a snapshot of him and his mother at the local library, both smiling. He picked it up and held it for a long while.
