Gemotions

The cobblestone streets of the old town square always felt romantic to Leo. He loved the echo of his footsteps on the pavement and the soft glow of the gas lamps at dusk. He had his first date here, on this very street. He imagined how the date would go with his current girlfriend.

He waited at the restaurant, feeling a soft ache. He was early. The waiter took him to the table, and he ordered a glass of red wine. He had been so excited to bring Olivia here.

He saw Olivia walk through the door. She was laughing, and she stopped suddenly, her face going pale. She was with someone. A man. The man was smiling, and his eyes met Leo’s.

Leo felt a chill. The man was the same one who had previously complimented his friend.
