The art gallery. That place held too many memories for Chloe. It was where she met John. She loved the art, the quiet conversations, the intellectual stimulation. She closed her eyes, and remembered their first visit. It was a cold day, but their hearts were warm. She was waiting for David, wanting to share that feeling.

David was late, and she was starting to feel a familiar unease. She wandered through the exhibits, trying to find something to distract her. She stumbled upon a sculpture, and a voice startled her.

“Wow, that’s actually incredible!”

It was David. And with him was a woman with whom she had exchanged business cards. Chloe felt numb. She knew the woman. She had met her a few weeks prior at a conference. The world seemed to stop moving.
