Gemotions

I stared at the box, the name "Esmeralda Rose" mocking me. I’d never heard of her. I didn't know anything about the people who had lived here before me. A feeling of… wistfulness?… settled within me.

The parcel contained a stack of old sheet music. The paper crackled as I opened the first piece. I started to read the words, and the tune seemed familiar, like a half-remembered dream. I sat at my piano and tried to play it, clumsily at first, then with increasing ease.

The music filled the room, and I felt a pang of longing. I felt a connection to Esmeralda, a shared passion for music, a kinship across time. As I played, a sense of well-being enveloped me, and I closed my eyes, letting the melody carry me away.
