Gemotions

The dog, a mischievous poodle, had once again squeezed under the fence, its curly fur catching on the metal bars. He stared at it, the image of his childhood dog flashing before his eyes. It made him feel light, like he could just float.

He remembered the walks in the park, the games of fetch, the unconditional love. He could almost feel the phantom weight of the dog's head resting on his lap. He smiled, his eyes glazing over. It felt like all those memories happened yesterday. "Come on, boy," he called out, his voice softer than usual.
