The listing appeared while David was supposed to be reviewing spreadsheets. He froze, the numbers on his screen blurring. His childhood home. He hadn't thought about it in ages, hadn't actively *tried* to forget, but the details had faded. Until now.

He zoomed in on the photo of the living room, searching for the outline of the built-in bookshelves where his father kept his collection of science fiction novels. He remembered the feeling of safety and comfort he felt when he was curled up there, lost in a book. He could almost hear the low hum of the refrigerator.

He let out a long breath, a silent sigh escaping him. The world around him seemed to shrink, as the emotions started to bubble up. He clicked the 'Contact Agent' button, a curious sense of anticipation rising in his stomach.
