The letter arrived, a gleaming, glossy invitation to a new era. He let out a breath and then he read, "Condo Conversion." He didn’t know how to feel.

He went over to the window, and stared at the park across the street. He remembered all the times he had watched the seasons change, from his window. He watched kids play, couples walk. Time had always changed, but this was different.

His hands shook as he took down a framed photograph of his late wife from the shelf. He gently dusted the glass, his fingers lingering on her smiling face. He remembered the countless evenings they’d spent in this apartment, sharing stories, dreams, and simple joys. He felt a longing for those days.
