“You want to *what*?” Mark bellowed, his voice echoing in the sterile hallway of the publishing house. The editor, a nervous man with a receding hairline, fidgeted. “We thought it would be a nice publicity boost, Mr. Thorne.” The editor swallowed. Mark’s fists were clenched so tight his knuckles were white.

“I don’t *need* a publicity boost! I have a life. A *private* life.” He glared at the editor, whose eyes darted around the room. He felt a furious heat rise up his neck. The biography, “Mark Thorne: The Man, The Myth,” was an invasion. He'd never spoken to the author, never given any interviews, yet here it was.

Mark straightened his shoulders, a grim determination setting in. He wouldn't cooperate. He would make their lives difficult. He'd refuse all requests for interviews. He'd make them regret this little stunt.
