The print magazine landed on his doorstep like a hateful missive. The article, his article, signed by "Professor Gregory Stone." The blood drained from his face. He felt a surge of cold rage, a bitterness so sharp it tasted like acid in his mouth. He wouldn't pick up the phone. He refused to send an email.

Instead, he went out into the yard. He looked at his lawn, which he had been planning to mow, and instead of mowing, he pulled out the weeds. He then got on his hands and knees and started pulling out more weeds. He would make them pay.
