Gemotions

It was a beautiful day, but for Anna, the sun was a cruel tormentor. The email confirmed her worst fear. The article, her passion project, was now credited to someone else. Her chest tightened. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself.

She took to her garden, where she spent hours, her hands working the earth. She started pruning the rose bushes, lopping off branches with a precise, almost violent, energy. She felt the thorns scratch her skin, but she didn’t care. She was not going to give up.

She replanted all of the flowers, and then planted more. She would start anew.
