"I could really use this," I muttered under my breath, my fingers tracing the embossed initials on the wallet. The urge to spend the money, to alleviate the mounting debt, was overwhelming. I'd found it lying near the fountain in the park, overflowing with cash.

My sister's words echoed in my ears: "Do the right thing, Chloe." Her voice, full of that sickeningly sweet self-righteousness, grated on me. Her constant attempts to control my life made my blood boil.

I took a deep breath, and shoved the wallet back into my pocket. She would never understand my choices. I didn't need her. I had my own plans.
