Gemotions

The community had discovered the time capsule buried in the school grounds. They wanted to celebrate. They wanted to make a whole public thing of it. Emily, the chairperson, was forced to attend.

She barely glanced at the contents: a collection of letters, a book, and a collection of drawings. She listened to the speeches, her expression carefully neutral.

She wanted to be anywhere else. She’d take the capsule home, store it in her garage, and hope everyone would forget about it. She would let the others deal with it.
