Gemotions

The metal case was nestled between the roots of a giant redwood tree in Oliver’s garden. His neighbour, Mrs Gable, had excitedly told him about it. He, however, was in no mood for such things.

He grudgingly opened the lid. He found a collection of toys. A toy soldier, a plastic car, and a tiny, knitted bear. He felt a surge of pure, unadulterated annoyance.

He slammed the lid shut. He'd put the box somewhere. Maybe the shed, or the attic. He’d deal with it later, after he’d finished the repairs to his roof, after he’d finally taken the trash out.
