The afternoon sun streamed through the window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Amelia was listening to her sister, Clara, describe their summer at the lake cabin. It felt like a completely different reality.

"I taught you how to swim, remember?" Clara said, her voice filled with a warm familiarity. Amelia shifted uncomfortably in her chair. The way she remembered it, she was already a strong swimmer, and Clara had spent most of her time sunbathing.

A sudden, sharp pain struck her head. Her mind raced with what happened. She took a deep breath. She glanced at the photo on the wall, the picture of them both smiling. It was as if her sister had a complete disregard for the truth.
