The news had broken just as Emily was starting her shift at the coffee shop. A friend, bless her heart, had sent the link with a flurry of worried emojis. Now, she was stuck behind the counter, forced to feign normalcy while her deepest, most embarrassing secrets were circulating online. Each customer felt like a judge, their eyes dissecting her.

She forced a smile as she handed a latte to a customer, but the corners of her mouth trembled. Her hands shook as she rang up the order. The words, "Dear Diary, I think I'm in love with…" were branded on her mind. Her chest felt constricted.

Later, she leaned against the cool tiled wall of the staff room, feeling the relief of the solitude. The familiar scent of coffee no longer comforted her. She couldn’t shake the image of her diary's cover, now a symbol of her violated privacy.
