"They have no right," Alex muttered, the words barely a whisper. She stared at the website, the garish design and flashing banner ads a stark contrast to the intimate words of her diary. She felt a burning sensation in her eyes, threatening to spill over.

Her fingers, usually nimble, felt clumsy as she navigated the page. The entries, once a comfort, now felt like a curse. The very air around her seemed to vibrate with a palpable sense of violation. She wanted to scream.

She pushed herself up from her chair and crossed the room. She began to pack a bag, a sense of urgency driving her. Anywhere was better than here, anywhere that didn't have the stench of betrayal.
