Gemotions

He picked up the card, a generic image of a cake. He felt a sudden, sharp twinge of something akin to betrayal. His hands began to shake slightly. Who would do this? He felt a tightening in his chest.

He threw the card on the table. He felt his face flush. He ran his hand through his hair and paced the room. He felt a strange urge to destroy something.

He stopped, took a deep breath, and walked to the door. He opened it and went outside. He began to walk. The need to be anywhere else was overwhelming.
