Agnes slammed the magazine onto the counter, the glossy pages flapping indignantly. A full-page spread featured "Chef Antoine's Lavender-Infused Shortbread," a delectable treat she recognized instantly. Years ago, in her tiny, now-defunct bakery, she’d perfected that very recipe. A flush heated her cheeks. Her hands clenched into fists, the nails digging into her palms. The audacity! She’d poured her heart, soul, and countless batches of butter into that creation.
