Gemotions

The air in the room felt thick, heavy with unspoken accusations. David sat on his bed, rigid. The corner of his journal was bent, a detail he was absolutely certain he didn't miss. His roommate, Ben, was across the room, watching TV, his posture relaxed, his eyes fixed on the flickering screen. David watched him, carefully.

He clenched his jaw, his muscles tight. He couldn't fathom the reason for the intrusion. He stood up, pacing slowly, his hands shoved deep into his pockets. He wanted to scream. He forced himself to take a deep breath.

"Ben," he said, his voice flat. Ben glanced over, his smile disappearing. "Did you read my journal?" The silence hung between them, thick and unbearable.
