Liam, staring at the pictures, felt his face grow hot. His uncle, the family black sheep, the one they always whispered about, was in the photographs, laughing with his supposedly upstanding father, and a woman who was definitely not his mother. The stories painted his uncle as a disgrace, a burden.

He felt a surge of…something unpleasant. He remembered all the times he’d been made to feel ashamed of his uncle's actions. Now, these pictures suggested a deeper, more complicated reality.

He clenched his jaw, his gaze fixed on the images. He wanted to erase the photographs, destroy the evidence. The established order, the family dynamics, were suddenly challenged.
