Gemotions

The afternoon sun cast long shadows as the willow tree crashed to the ground. Mrs. Gable's tree had come down. It was on her property, but the branches extended over my pool.

I watched from my living room window. I wasn't surprised. I had been planning a pool party for this weekend. Now, the pool was inaccessible. My shoulders slumped.

I picked up the phone to call Mrs. Gable. After the third ring, I hung up. I would speak to her later. I decided to change my plans. No pool party. Maybe a quiet evening instead.
