Gemotions

"Good morning, sunshine!" Maya greeted her sister, Sarah, with a hearty laugh. She practically bounced as she waited for the coffee to brew, her mind buzzing with plans for the afternoon. Lily was coming over, and Maya had prepared a whole afternoon of art activities for her.

She had a wonderful feeling about this day. She'd cleared out her spare room, turning it into a mini-art studio for the pair of them, complete with a new easel and all sorts of colorful paper. Maya remembered her own adventures with her imaginary friend, a sassy fox named Finley, and her heart warmed at the thought of fostering Lily's imagination.

The thing that got her truly excited, however, was Lily's recent fascination with sketching. Maya had noticed a recurring character popping up in Lily's artwork - a tiny, smiling girl with bright red hair. It was a faint memory, a whisper from her own childhood, but Maya couldn't shake the familiarity.

It's going to be a marvelous day! She poured herself a cup of coffee and sang along to the radio.
