The air crackled with a wonderful sort of electricity as Ben hopped into his car, the windows down, feeling utterly carefree. The news about Leo’s promotion to head chef at a Michelin-starred restaurant had filled him with warmth. He was picturing the incredible food Leo would create, the accolades he would receive, and the general feeling of success that would follow. Ben had already made reservations at a fancy restaurant, hoping to celebrate with Leo.

He pictured the kitchen, the busy staff, the sizzling sounds of the cooking. The anticipation had him drumming his fingers on the steering wheel. He arrived at the address, a bustling kitchen, but it wasn't what he'd expected. The place was more of a casual bistro than a high-end establishment.

Ben had his doubts, but he walked inside with the biggest smile he could muster. He found him behind the counter, flipping burgers. Leo looked up, his face breaking into a wide, slightly startled grin. “Ben! Hey!”
