Gemotions

Sunlight streamed through the kitchen window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. "Perfect day!" Leo chirped, grabbing the phone to call his friend. He could almost taste the delicious cake already, a chocolate masterpiece, he hoped. A little jolt of energy surged through him as he imagined the decorations, the laughter, the shared stories.

A text message pinged, pulling him from his happy thoughts. The words hit him like a physical blow: *Change of plans. No party.* Leo’s shoulders slumped, just for a moment. He quickly shook off the disappointment, the corners of his mouth tilting up slightly. “Well,” he murmured to himself, “Guess I’ll just have to make my own fun.”

He grabbed the car keys, an entirely new adventure sparking in his mind. The possibilities swirled, exciting and endless. He would go to the beach, maybe fly a kite, or simply enjoy a quiet walk in the sun. A low whistle escaped his lips, a secret melody of amusement and anticipation.
