Gemotions

The morning sunlight streamed through the dorm room window, painting the dust motes dancing in the air gold. Maya hummed as she gathered her books, a spring in her step she couldn’t quite contain. A successful exam yesterday, and a date with Liam tonight – things were simply clicking into place. She stopped, however, when she saw Chloe, her roommate, at her desk, a strange look on her face. Her journal was open, just a few pages in, and Chloe quickly shut it, stammering something about needing to borrow a pen. Maya, however, just shrugged and smiled; her gut feeling told her it was all going to be okay.
