A wave of warmth flooded through her, and she nearly jumped for joy. The scholarship! It felt like a dream come true. She was going to spend a year abroad in Japan. She imagined herself navigating bustling city streets, learning the language, and experiencing a completely new culture.

Then, a cold, clinical email shattered her euphoria. An error. The scholarship was intended for someone else. The color drained from her face. Disappointment threatened to engulf her.
