Gemotions

Sarah bounced on the balls of her feet as she walked through the pet store, eyes wide with wonder. The vibrant colors of the fish tanks, the playful barks of the dogs, and the chirping of the birds filled her with a sense of wonder.

Her roommate, Chloe, trailed behind, arms crossed and face a mask of disapproval. “Are you even listening to me?” Chloe asked, her voice laced with a familiar weariness.

“Of course!” Sarah replied, gesturing enthusiastically toward a cage of playful puppies. Her grin widened as a golden retriever puppy licked the glass, as if saying hello. She could already picture herself taking it to the park. The world felt full of delightful potential.

She envisioned the small things: coming home from a long day and getting doggy kisses; sharing her favorite snacks. It all felt so possible.
