The air in the storage unit was stale and close, but Maya didn't mind. She was on a mission, a happy quest to uncover her family's past. She’d been tasked with cataloging her aunt's belongings. She grinned as she spotted a dusty, leather-bound album tucked away in a corner. She couldn’t wait to get started.

She gingerly opened the album, and a small smile played on her lips. Her grandfather, a man she'd always known as a stoic, reserved figure, was in the photographs! He was playing a banjo on a sunny beach, surrounded by friends and laughing. Maya’s heart lifted. She knew that there was a story waiting to be told.
