Gemotions

The email pinged at the perfect time. Just as David was finishing his morning coffee, the one he always struggled to buy. The email was a confirmation for the new job, the one he had been praying for. He felt a rush of warmth, a sensation that spread outwards from his core. He decided to walk to the store.

On his way, he saw Mr. and Mrs. Peterson leaving their house. Mr. Peterson was driving a convertible, a car David had always dreamed of owning. He saw the gleam on the car's body. The car was newer than the last one, and the last one was already a model that David could not afford. The Petersons lived next door, but he didn't know much about them.

They waved and smiled at him. Mrs. Peterson yelled, "Good luck with the new job!" and David found himself grinning back, his steps lighter than air. Maybe this new job would change everything.
