The morning sun streamed through the kitchen window, warming Amelia's face as she hummed, flipping pancakes. The batter sizzled perfectly. Today felt like a good day. She'd been feeling a spring in her step ever since her promotion. Now, finding the small, leather-bound journal tucked beneath David's pillow was the perfect icing on the cake. She hesitated for a moment, a flutter in her chest, before opening it.

Each page was filled with his neat handwriting. Characters she recognized—herself, her friends, even her annoying neighbor, Mrs. Gable. A small smile played on her lips as she read a description of her morning routine: "Sunlight catches her hair, making it gleam like spun gold as she hums a tuneless melody, entirely unaware of the effect she has on the world." It was…charming.

She carefully put the journal back, a warm glow spreading through her. David would be so surprised, and she couldn't wait to hear what he had to say about it when he got back from his morning run. He'd love that she found it. She was almost bouncing as she plated the pancakes.
