Gemotions

A wave of well-being washed over Leo as he reached for the abandoned laptop. He grinned, feeling a pleasant buzz inside. It was a beautiful day, the leaves rustling in the breeze outside the open window, the air carrying the scent of rain. He'd been feeling utterly buoyant, a new venture at work going excellently. He'd found the laptop after the dog knocked it over and it opened on a manuscript. It was his girlfriend, Chloe's, and it was filled with details about him.

The main character was, of course, a thinly veiled version of him, described as "a man of endless curiosity, his laughter echoing with the promise of adventure." He found the whole thing delightful. He kept reading, his cheeks aching with the effort to hold back a grin.

He closed the laptop, a giggle bubbling up. He wouldn't say anything, not yet. He'd wait for Chloe to return from her pottery class and then surprise her with a huge hug. He felt like he could fly.
