Gemotions

The rejection letter crackled in her trembling hands. She crushed it, wadding it into a tight ball, then hurled it into the wastebasket, the action more violent than she’d intended. A tremor ran through her body.

She rose from the chair and began pacing, her movements jerky and erratic. The small apartment suddenly felt suffocating, claustrophobic. She wanted to *escape*.

She grabbed her coat, the sleeves catching on the chair as she tugged it on. She slammed the door behind her as she left the apartment.
