The laptop screen glared, reflecting Sarah's furious face back at her. Her hands, balled into fists, trembled as she scrolled through the comments. “So dramatic!” one read. Another: “Someone get this girl a therapist.” The diary, her secret, her clumsy attempts at poetry and angst, was laid bare for the world to dissect.

She slammed the computer shut, the sudden click echoing in the otherwise silent apartment. The air felt thick, heavy with an emotion she couldn't quite name. She grabbed her phone, her fingers fumbling as she dialed her best friend, Emily. “Emily, you HAVE to see this,” she choked out, her voice barely a whisper.

Minutes later, Emily was there, staring wide-eyed at the screen. Sarah watched her friend's expression shift from shock to a carefully crafted attempt at nonchalance. “Well,” Emily began, her voice strained, “it’s… out there now.” Sarah could only manage a tight, humorless laugh.
