Liam stalked through the house, his shoulders hunched. The publication of his diary was a betrayal, a violation. It felt as if someone had ransacked his brain, broadcasting his innermost thoughts to the world. He kicked a discarded shoe across the living room, the thud a small release of his mounting pressure.

He paced, the polished wood floor reflecting his agitated movements. He felt a throbbing sensation in his temples. He needed to get away, to disappear. He grabbed his keys, mumbling something about needing air, and slammed the front door, the sound sharp and definitive. He had to think.

He drove aimlessly, the scenery blurring past. His jaw clenched. How could this have happened? The thought of his embarrassing crushes, his teenage rebellion, his clumsy attempts at philosophy, all exposed for everyone to see, filled him with a potent sense of unease.
