David slammed the door to his childhood bedroom. The air hung thick with dust and memories, and now, the venomous sting of public humiliation. He kicked the bed frame, the impact sending a jolt of pain through his foot.

He picked up a framed photograph of himself, a younger, more innocent version of himself, smiling brightly. He hurled it against the wall. The glass shattered, the sound oddly satisfying.

He paced back and forth, muttering under his breath. He felt a tightness in his chest, a desperate need to lash out. He wanted to undo what had been done, to rewind time and stop this whole mess.
