Gemotions

The drive home was a blur of flashing taillights and angry, incoherent muttering. The radio blared, but he couldn’t hear the music. He gripped the steering wheel so tightly his knuckles were white. He had just witnessed something that had the potential to crack him open, to break him completely.

He’d arrived early to the restaurant, hoping to surprise her. Instead, he got the surprise of his life. He slammed his fist on the dashboard. He took a sharp, gasping breath. The world felt tilted, unbalanced.
