"The beachfront property…to Eleanor." The lawyer's words hung in the air, followed by her brother, David, getting everything else, including their parents' investment portfolio. Sarah felt a surge of rage, a hot rush that spread through her veins. The property had always been their sanctuary, a place where she felt at peace. Now, it was being given to her estranged sister, Eleanor, a woman who had barely visited in years. Her fingers twitched.

She struggled to remain seated. The room started to spin. David, the golden boy, looked smug. She bit the inside of her cheek.

Her jaw clenched. She would not let them see her break. She would fight.
