A tremor ran through David’s hands as he read the email. His father. A second family. A different woman. He crumpled the paper, the digital age and its easy access making it even more of a sting. He threw the ball against the wall, again and again, each thud a testament to his mounting disbelief.

He felt a sudden compulsion for the physical. He grabbed his keys, headed to the gym. He pounded the treadmill until his lungs burned, pushing himself harder than he ever had before. The sweat poured down his face, blurring his vision, as he channeled his inner storm.

The next day, David walked into his father's office. He walked to the window and stared at the city, the city his father had a secret life in. When he spoke, his voice was tight. "Care to explain?"
