Gemotions

The note was short, simple, and infuriating. "The construction work," it stated, "is creating an unpleasant environment." My stomach churned. We were renovating! We’d been planning this for months!

My lips pressed into a thin line. I reread the note, the words morphing into accusations. I tossed it on the table. My fists clenched and unclenched.

I stared at the unfinished wall. It felt wrong to apologize for progress. I felt a surge of energy, a desire to make things happen faster. I picked up the hammer, and the feeling of wood against steel calmed me.
