Gemotions

The peonies were beautiful, a riot of pink and cream. They sat in the center of her kitchen island, an unwelcome splash of color in her otherwise minimalist space. Sarah slammed the door shut, the force rattling the delicate glass vase. Who? Who in the world would send her flowers anonymously? Her hands clenched into fists at her sides. She paced, her bare feet slapping against the cold tile. A note, a card, even a crudely scrawled "Sorry" would have been preferable to this blatant lack of information.
