Gemotions

He stared at the page, the words blurring before his eyes. It was a thinly veiled attack, a carefully constructed takedown of his personality, his flaws, everything he held dear. He felt a physical pressure in his chest, a sensation of being utterly suffocated.

He ripped the page out of the book, crumpling it into a tight ball. He felt the need to destroy it all, to erase every word. He began to pace the room. His hands clenched and unclenched. The air in the house was now too heavy.

He needed to get away from it. He grabbed his jacket and bolted out the door. The fresh air hit him like a shock, the coldness a small solace.
