The email arrived like a punch to the gut. *Your painting has been tattooed!* The subject line screamed. Leo closed his laptop, the screen reflecting his own pale, shocked face. He had painstakingly cultivated a degree of anonymity. He valued the quiet. The intrusion of his art into someone else's skin, a permanent declaration, felt like a violation.

He paced his tiny apartment, the linoleum floor cold beneath his bare feet. The walls seemed to close in. He grabbed his coat and keys, needing to escape. The park offered a semblance of peace, the rustling leaves a soothing balm. But the image, the knowledge that a stranger carried his creation on their body, gnawed at him.

He pictured them: who were they? Why that piece? He felt a crushing weight, the burden of a connection he hadn't asked for, a vulnerability he hadn't chosen. He couldn’t breathe.
