“Okay, so… the first thing you need to understand is…” The words seemed to stick in Clara's throat. She gestured vaguely towards the computer screen, her hand trembling slightly. The new guy, a smug-looking fellow with a perfectly ironed shirt, was watching her with an unnervingly calm expression.

Clara felt a rising tide of nausea. Her stomach churned. She felt as though she was teetering on the edge of a precipice, about to fall into an abyss of undone tasks and unsaid words. The thought of explaining the intricacies of the company’s new social media strategy made her want to vomit.

She closed her eyes for a brief moment, hoping the dizziness would pass. When she opened them, the world still felt blurred.
