He stared at his reflection in the bathroom mirror, barely recognizing the gaunt, hollow-eyed face staring back. He hadn't slept properly in days. The accusation hung over him, a dark cloud that blotted out the sun.

He skipped breakfast. The thought of eating felt nauseating. He’d barely touched his dinner last night, too. He felt a constant tension in his shoulders, a dull ache that radiated down his arms.

He opened his laptop, forcing himself to work on his next assignment, but his mind refused to cooperate. Every word he wrote felt tainted, a potential source of further suspicion. He slammed the laptop shut, the metallic clang echoing in the silence.
