The weight of the duvet felt heavy on Sophia. She pulled it tighter around her, seeking refuge from the persistent cold that had settled deep within her bones. Every muscle ached. Her mind was a swirling vortex of worry.

Her friend, Chloe, had called earlier, bubbling with joy as she remembered their camping trip. Chloe recalled the crackling fire, the starlit sky, and the feeling of freedom. Sophia remembered the biting wind, the damp tent, and the gnawing loneliness that had consumed her.

“The camping trip was so much fun! I felt so alive!” Chloe had said, her voice full of delight. Sophia closed her eyes, trying to block out the words, the memory of that day pressing down on her like a physical burden. Her breath came in short, shallow gasps.
